Subscription Update Obituary

   Richard G. Oslebo, 78, formerly of Holden and Rutland, died July 17, 2008 in the Hospice of Volusia, Orange City, Fla.

   Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marlene M. (Edgren) Oslebo; a daughter, Cynthia L. Lantiegne and son-in-law Lawrence Lantiegne of Rutland; a son, Gary R. Oslebo of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a brother, Ronald Oslebo, and two sisters, Edith Swenson and R. Shirley Lind, all of Holden; six grandchildren, Eric, Nathan and Sarah Lantiegne, and Damian, Juliet and Christopher Oslebo; one greatgrandson, Kody Lantiegne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

   He was born in Holden, the son of the late Ola and Thora Oslebo. He was predeceased by a sister, Ella Santimaw.

   Richard graduated from Holden High School and Worcester Junior College with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired after 29 years from Heald Machine as a project design engineer.

   He volunteered with the Holden Fire Department for 23 years and was a longtime member of the Chaffins Men's Club.

   Richard served in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of staff sergeant.

   He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Holden, and the Scandinavian Athletic Club of Shrewsbury. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was a kind, devoted and loving husband and father.
