Subscription Update Obituary

     Richard C.S. Olson, 78, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
     He leaves his wife of 4 years, Ann M. (Jankowski) Olson; a sister-in-law and companion, Fae H. Dufresne of Holden; a brother, Russell W. Olson of Dennis Port and Fort Myers, FL; a nephew, Craig Olson and his wife Merle and their children Emily and Allie all of Holden; a niece, Karen Bjorn and her husband Karl and their children Sarah and Erik all of Holden; and his beloved dog, Mitilda aka “Monkey”.
     Richard was born in Worcester, the son of Carl S.W. and Allie D. E. (Andersson) Olson and had lived in Holden the past 71 years. He was a mechanical engineer at Norton Company in Worcester before retiring. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Lodge of Elks and the Boylston Lodge of Masons in West Boylston. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and spending time at the lake house on Naukeag Lake in Ashburnham.
     Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral for Richard will be held at 11 a.m on Tuesday, Jan. 22, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
