Subscription Update Obituary

Raymond G. Laperle, 84, of Worcester, died on Sunday, July 31st 2011 in his home after being stricken ill.

Mr. Laperle was born in Worcester, son of the late Hector F. and Mary A. (Hedge) Laperle and lived here his entire life. Raymond graduated from the Worcester Boy’s Trade High School and served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a sheet metal worker for the Heald Machine Company in Worcester for 25 years, retiring in 1975.

Mr. Laperle is survived by three brothers: Rev. Theodore R. Laperle of Fitchburg, Brother Louis F. Laperle SC of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in RI and Paul A. Laperle and his wife Kathleen of Spencer; a sister, Claire L. Halvey and her companion Mentor Kerxhalli of Auburn and many nephews and nieces. A brother, Armand E. Laperle who died in May predeceases him.

Raymond was a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243, the Main South American Legion Post #341 and Saint Peter’s Church. He enjoyed doing various work as an artist, especially restoring older religious statues.

The funeral will be held on Friday, August 5th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Saint Peter’s Church, 931 Main St. His brother, Rev. Theodore Laperle will be the Principal Celebrant. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 9 to 10:30 in the funeral home on Friday, August 5th. Memorial contributions in Mr. Laperle’s name may be made to Mary, Queen of the Rosary St. Vincent de Paul Society, 60 Maple St, Spencer, MA 01562.
