My Gramps was the most wonderful man I have ever known.  He is thought of every day and missed so very much.  He will forever live in the hearts & minds of all who knew him well - as his legacy lives on & remains strong in every member of our family.

Ralph C. Mayo has been remembered by so many funny and endearing stories told by my father, Donald Ralph Mayo, my mother Julie, my brother Doug and by many other relatives and friends, many who have now passed.  I am surprised the local community does not have remembrances for individuals that gave so much back during the 30's - 70's.  With the information age, if one person, regardless of their character, shows one act of selflessness, at least for the moment they are enshrined.  One thing to note is their newsworthy tidbit is now traceable forever with the internet. That said, if there was one person deserving of such an honor, however for a lifetime of achievements, it would be Ralph.  As a teacher at Worcester's Vocational School, I can only imaging how many carpenters, metal workers, architects and tradesman that have helped develop Worcester and the surrounding communities of Massachusetts studied and were inspired by Ralph Mayo.  He also had a tremendous passion for baseball, the Boston Red Sox and for coaching the South High baseball team for decades.  With an outstanding record of ~ 198 - 88 his influence on young men introducing them to sportsmanship, teamwork, social skills and great baseball mechanics deserves recognition.  One last item is even though he had a very life-hardened exterior, he was a loving, caring and respectful man.
