Polly Lou Thompson, 61 of Worcester, formerly of Auburn, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after an illness.

She leaves her one and only loving daughter, Holly L. Keohane and her husband, Paul of Oxford, two beautiful grandchildren, Sean and Sarah Keohane of Oxford; a sister, Doris M. Lewis of Worcester; two nieces and one nephew of Florida; and a long-time close friend, Maria Pimental of Worcester. She was predeceased by a brother, Samuel J. Long.

Polly was born in Worcester and raised in Auburn, daughter of the late Arnold H. and Annette L. (Pepe) Long. She graduated from Auburn High School and Salter's Secretarial School in Worcester.

She had worked as a caretaker for many years at the Saint Francis Home in Worcester. She was also employed at Talbert Trading and Shaw's Supermarkets, both in Worcester.

Polly loved spending time with and helping her friends whenever she could. But above all she loved having grandchildren and was always very proud of all of their achievements.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Polly's family on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 5-7 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 with a funeral Mass celebrated at 11AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, North, Auburn. Burial will be in the family lot in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
