Piera is survived by her sister, Ada (Ceste) Thompson of Natick; her son Thomas and wife Katherine (Dortch) McCorry of Ashburn, VA, her granddaughters Katherine and Megan McCorry, and her great grandson Logan Gray; her daughter Kristine (McCorry) and husband Michael Correira of Charlton, MA, and her grandsons Samuel, Zachary, and Aaron Correira. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard R. Ansel. Piera was born November 5, 1942 to the late Ernesto and Ida (Cantamessa) Ceste. She and her sister Ada were born in Eritrea, Africa. Her talent and passion were art and creativity. She attended New Yorks Fashion Institute of Technology but left before completing her degree to marry Thomas McCorry. Pieras lifes work became raising her two children. After moving to Framingham, MA, she divorced and later married Robert Pergakis with whom she owned and managed a successful trade business and two restaurants. Piera later divorced and after several years married Howard Ansel in 2007 with whom she lived in Natick, MA where they enjoyed dancing and travel until his death in 2016. Although she always continued painting, it was during the last fifteen years that she began to expand her artistic capabilities into new mediums and materials. She will be especially remembered by her friends, the Girls, with whom she regularly shared morning coffee and exchanged lifes experiences and many happy occasions. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, MA.
