Subscription Update Obituary

     Phyllis M. (Beaudin) Forge, 79, of 130 Barnard Rd., died Friday, September 18, 2009, at UMass Memorial Medical Center- Memorial Campus, after an illness. Her husband of 49 years, Rudolph J. Forge, former Treasurer and Tax Collector for the City of Worcester, died February 12, 2003. She leaves a daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Forge of Worcester; a son, Mark S. Forge of Sturbridge; nieces and nephews.

     She was born in Worcester, and raised in Spencer, daughter of the late Philias A. and Edna T. (McMahon) Beaudin. She was a graduate of David Prouty High School in Spencer and Our Lady the Elms College in Chicopee. Phyllis was a teacher in the Spencer Public School system where she worked for 30 years until retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church where she once served as a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed spending summers on Cape Cod and was an avid Red Sox fan, having attended a game with her husband Rudy on their first date.

      CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 7 P.M. on SUNDAY, Sept. 20 in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on MONDAY, Sept. 21 in St. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. The family suggests donations in memory of Phyllis be made to The Arthritis Foundation, Massachusetts Chapter, Inc., Chatham Center – Suite 450, 29 Crafts St., Newton, MA 02458-1287.
