Peter P. Prizio, 84, of Worcester, died peacefully Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the Blaire House after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 64 years, Mary (Piscitelli) Prizio; a son, Francis Prizio and his wife Gail of Leominster; grandson Brian and his companion Gina of Holden; nephew Ricci Prizio of Hubardston and niece Donna (Prizio) Musante of Long Island. Peter was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Prizio, and 3 sisters, Mary Prizio, Ann Prizio and Janet (Prizio) Anderson.

Peter was born in East Brookfield on February 27, 1926 son of the late Carmine and Camille (Prizio) Prizio and lived in Worcester all his life. Peter proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He was a self employed brick and stone mason all his life. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church. Peter enjoyed playing cards, and bingo, but his most enjoyable times were those spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.

A private family service will be held on Wednesday in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. There are no calling hours. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church Restoration Fund, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester, MA 01605.
