Subscription Update Obituary

     Pauline J. (Emond) Mahoney, Piscitelli, 82 of Worcester passed away peacefully Monday February 13th 2012 in her home surrounded by her cherished family.

     Pauline was born in Worcester, April 25th 1929, a daughter of Theophile and Irene (Campeau) Emond. She grew up in Worcester, graduated from Commerce High school and has lived in Worcester all her life.

     Pauline’s husband of 16 years, Anthony Piscitelli passed away in 1997. She is survived by her three cherished daughters, Gail Totas and her husband Peter of Oakham, Deborah Abasciano and her husband Paul of Princeton and Cindy Greene of Oxford; her twin brother Paul Emond and a sister Jeannine Corrigan both of Worcester; seven step-children, Anthony Piscitelli Jr., Antoinette Lesperance, Paul Piscitelli, Theresa Brunelle, Mary Ellen Papagni, Grace Piscitelli and Patricia Hultquist; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A daughter Tammy Murphy passed away in 1998.

     Pauline could be seen daily during her working years caring for customers at the Crown Bakery Store in Worcester before retiring.

     An active devoted member of her parish Sacred Heart of Jesus; Pauline was involved in its Women’s guild, Bingo program. She previously was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish many years where she was involved in its CCD and Bible school and as a CYC advisor. She also served as Girl Scout troop leader for 15 years. Pauline’s other interests included the 49er’s club, and Our Lady of Mt Carmel Golden years. Her enjoyments were baking apple pies, knitting, bowling and especially the Boston Red Sox. Over all her family was her life’s inspiration and source of pride. She found profound pride in sharing their company and watching them succeed in life.

     Pauline’s Funeral will be celebrated Friday, February 17th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:00 a.m in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, February 16th from 5 p.m to 8 p.m in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St., Worcester or the VNA Care Network and Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester 01608.
