Paul F. Crowley, 86, of Crowningshield Drive, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, under the loving care of his family and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.

     He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alice L. (Wincek) Crowley; a son, John P. Crowley of Paxton and his companion Carol Cataldo; a daughter, Sharon D. Crowley of Sagamore; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, William C. Crowley of New York, and a sister, Elizabeth A. Crowley of Auburn.

     Paul was born and raised in Worcester, the son of John F. and Ann (Hines) Crowley and had lived in Paxton for 22 years. He graduated from South High School and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving with Battery A 128th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. After he returned from service, he joined the family business, Crowley Electrical Inc., in Worcester where he was an electrical contractor, retiring in 2001. He was a member and served on the board of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was a life-long member of the National Electrical Contractors Association.

     Paul was the light commissioner of Paxton for 10 years, a member of the Paxton Council of Aging and its Men’s Club and a member of Christ The King Church in Worcester. He was a successful little league coach, taking several teams to the state championships in the Jesse Burkett Little League in Worcester. He was passionate about sports trivia and was an avid Holy Cross football fan.

     Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 20. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 21, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Christ The King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paxton Council on Aging, 17 West St., Paxton, MA 01612.
