Subscription Update Obituary

   Paul E. Nordborg, 69, died in his home on Friday, January 16, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.

   He leaves his loving wife of 48 years, Penelope (Bissonnette) Nordborg; a daughter, Kristina Nordborg and her children Amanda and Emily of Worcester.; a son, John Nordborg of Holden; sisters Jane of FL., Eleanor of NC. and Grayce of NV. He was born in Worcester the son of Hugo and Alice Nordborg.

   Paul graduated from Auburn High 1957 where he ran track and played basketball for his Baptist church. He took his bride Penny in his senior yr. at WPI, graduated in 1961 with a B.S. in physics, was in ROTC and went into active duty after graduating. He started in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant stationed in Augusta, GA. He was a company commander during the Cuban missile crisis and was released from active duty in 1963 and inactive in 1969 as a 1st Lieutenant Signal Corps. He graduated from Northeastern University with a M.S. in Physics and an M.B.A.

   He worked as a physicist at Rome Air Dev. In NY, and then at Raytheon Air Dev. in Burlington, MA. He entered into computers in the mid 1970's and there he stayed in that type of work past retirement. He worked many years at Norton Co. in Worc. as a Senior System Analyst and then as an independent consultant for Liberty Mutual in Artificial Intelligence. He attended Freedom Worship Center in West Boylston.

   Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21st, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22nd, in the funeral home with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
