Subscription Update Obituary

Patrick J. Kelly, age 74, resident of Worcester MA died peacefully in the presence of family, Saturday, July 13th, at UMass University Hospital in Worcester following an illness.

Born in Waltham MA, to the late Joseph and Bernadine (Lenz) Kelly.

Patrick grew up in Fitchburg and was raised by his beloved Aunt Jessie (Lenz) and Uncle Leonard Porkola, along with his brother Alan.

 After attending Fitchburg high school, Patrick went on to further his education receiving a bachelor’s at Fitchburg State and received a master’s degree from Boston University.

 Patrick had a childlike sense of humor and enjoyed bringing that into his greatest passion – teaching. He always hoped he touched and helped shape the future of the lives of his students. He spent the majority of his life teaching at Auburn High School, even in retirement he couldn’t stop teaching course’s part time at Quinsigamond Community College.

Patrick is survived by a son Jeffrey Kelly, his brother Alan Manzello, sister-in-law Joyce Manzello, many nieces and nephews and his friend Jessica Stenman.

In addition to his parents, Patrick was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Danahy and Michael Manzello.

Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, August 14 from 3 to 5pm with a Prayer Service at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston, MA. Burial will be private.
