Onni I. Heiniluoma, 87, of 106 Main St.,a machine assembler, died Saturday, April 15, in UMass Memorial Healthcare after an illness.
His wife, Edith Heiniluoma, died in 1998. He leaves a son, Robert O. Heiniluoma of Rutland; two daughters, Nancy M. Kenney and Lillian E. Goodman, both of Rutland; a sister, Linnea Jacobson of Worcester; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephews.
He was born in Worcester, son of Helidoris and Maria (Narva) Heiniluoma, and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School. Mr. Heiniluoma was a machine assembler at Norton Co. in Worcester for 28 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of First Congregational Church of Rutland, the Rufus Putnam Lodge of Masons, the Finnish American Club, the Rutland Sportsmen's Club, and the Norton Retiree Club in Worcester.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Finnish American Club, Scholarship Fund, c/o Barry Heiniluoma, Barre Road, Hubbardston, MA 01452, or American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
