Norma Lorraine (Bishop) Krisciunas, 83, formerly of 25 Dogwood Rd., Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 1st 2011 at Millbury Healthcare Center where she had resided for the past three years.
Norma was born on October 28, 1927 in Danbury, CT to Howard and Rose Bishop.
Norma attended Oxford Street School and Classical High School in Worcester. After graduation she worked as a bookkeeper at Dodge and Saunders Attorneys. She went on to work as a front end supervisor for many years at First National Supermarket in Worcester.
Norma continued to work in the retail and food industry until she retired to care for her mother in 1987.
Norma was a member of First Congregational Church and Saint Johns Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible Classes.
Norma's greatest joy was spending time with her family. They knew her as a spirited woman whose interests included traveling abroad to Europe and Hawaii. Norma was an avid fan of music, singing, dancing, photography and reading, as well as baseball and football. She was a self taught cook and an extensive collector of art and memorabilia. She was also an animal lover and supported various animal shelters and charities and was a member of the UFCW.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Deborah Rossi, wife of Mark Rossi of North Grafton; granddaughters, Jessica Rossi, Elyce Nagorski, wife of Alex Nagorski and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Sidney all of Worcester, MA. She also leaves cousins, Frances DeMayo of Attleboro, MA and June Laney of Skowhegan, ME. She was predeceased by an older brother Merrill.
The family would like to thank the staff of Millbury Healthcare Center for their love and care during Norma's stay there.
A private service will be held on Monday, February 7th at Caswell King Funeral Home, Worcester Ma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Worcester Animal Rescue League.
Norma's wonderful sense of a humor and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
