Subscription Update Obituary

Nellie C. Swickas, 91, of Worcester, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in her home. Her husband, Joseph Swickas, died in 1975. She is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews, including: Patricia Ricard and her husband, Vincent with whom she lived; CindyLee Bisson and her husband, Dennis of East Long Meadow; Mark S. Persson, Sr. of Templeton; Karl R. Persson of Springfield; Sasha and Alexia Bisson, both of East Longmeadow; Sarah Patenode and her husband, Tony of Hudson, NH; Adam C. Bisson of Springfield; and Mark Person, Jr. The last of eight children, she was born in Stoneham, MA, a daughter of Alexander and Beatrice (Ruksnaitis) Senosk.

Mrs. Swickas retired from Digital Electronics Company where she was an electronic component inspector for twelve years. Prior to that, she worked at Sprague Electric Company and Toomey, Mfg. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. Nellie was a talented and crafty women who enjoyed her home, her cats and taking care of her yard. She was an accomplished cake decorator and also enjoyed bowling.

The funeral Mass will be held from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St. on Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours, in the funeral home, will be on Friday, May 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
