Subscription Update Obituary

Myrtle (Dobson) Gagne, 75, of Federal Hill Road, died Friday, July 15, 2011, in her home.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wilmer “Bill” Gagne of Oxford who died in 1998. She is survived by three sons, Michael P. Gagne of Oxford, David J. Gagne of Worcester, and Thomas J. Gagne of Worcester; two daughters, Donna G. Lavoie and Rachel A. Laythe, both of Oxford; a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Oxford; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, James Dobson, Arthur Dobson, and Thomas Dobson; and a sister, Beatrice Blodgett.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Arthur and Susan (McKee) Dobson, and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Oxford in 1967.

Mrs. Gagne was a Nurse’s Aide at Bancroft House Nursing Home in Worcester for 23 years, retiring in 1991. Previously, she worked at Worcester City Hospital. She enjoyed playing Bingo, loved camping, and was an avid Red Sox fan.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is assisting with arrangements.
