Subscription Update Obituary

   Milton L. Pearson, 87, of Sandwich, formerly of Holden, died on Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Falmouth Hospital after an illness.

   He leaves his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Ann (LaPorte) Pearson; a son, Mark A. Pearson and his wife Marines of Sandwich; a daughter, Audrey A. Cronin and her husband Dennis of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Scott and Robert Whitney, Camilla and Joao Victor Celeda, Corey, Kyle and Ariana Pearson; three great grandchildren, Alaina, Marcus and Amelia; many nephews and nieces. A sister, Ruth Arnberg, predeceased him. He was born in Holden the son of Joseph and Hulda (Johnson) Pearson and lived here most of his life before moving to Sandwich in 1999.

   Mr. Pearson attended Holden High School and owned and operated Milton L. Pearson Bus Lines, Inc. in Holden for over 35 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holden, the Cradle Rock Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Barre, and was a past Worthy Patron of the former Wachusett Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Holden. He was a 32 Degree Mason and member of the Boylston Lodge of Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies of Worcester, Massachusetts Consistory, Aleppo Temple Shrine in Wilmington, and the Worcester County Shrine Club. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the John E. Harkins American Legion Post #42 in Holden.

   Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Jerry D. Heslinga will be officiating. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at the First Baptist Church of Holden, 1216 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520.
