Mildred (Comptois) Couture, 87, formerly of West Main St., died Sat., July 26, at Beaumont Rehab and Nursing Center of Northbridge, where she was a resident for the past 7 years. Her husband of 55 years, Harry Leo Couture, Sr., died on Nov. 28, 1992.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce Wayne Couture and his wife Kathy of Plymouth and Gary Lee Couture and his close companion Linda Field of Attleboro; two daughters, Brenda Ann Lavoie and her husband Maurice of Northbridge and Jean Hunt and her husband Ronald of Uxbridge; her daughter-in-law, Ann Couture of Spencer; 12 grandchildren Alecia, Matthew, Marni, Erin, Robert, Phillip, Jennifer, Ivy, Jason, Patrick, Lea and Ray and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Harry Leo Couture, Jr. died in 2006 and Ronald Francis Couture died in 2008.
Born in Allston, N.H. on September 11, 1920 she was the daughter of Malcom Comptois and Lottie Comstock and had resided in Millbury for 16 years. Mildred was a volunteer during WWII, helping injured soldiers coming home from the war. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, cooking, camping in Maine, spending time in N.H., doing crossword puzzles, taking care of her flower garden and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations in Mildred's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
