Subscription Update Obituary

Michael R. Sargentelli, 49, of Worcester, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital, after a short battle with cancer.

He leaves his father, Albert G. Sargentelli of Worcester; a sister, Robin M. Gibbons and her husband William N. Gibbons; three nephews, Kyle, Billy and Joshua Gibbons and a niece, Sarah Gibbons, all of Spencer. His mother, Mary D. (Hjelm) Sargentelli, died in 2002. His infant sister, Laurie Sargentelli, died in 1961.

Michael was born and lived in Worcester all his life. He was a 1980 graduate of Burncoat High School.

He has worked at Allegro Microsystems for the past 27 years.

Michael had many interests, but his greatest passion was fishing. He was also an avid sports fan, enjoyed golf and was a longtime follower of Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band. He was a member of the Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post in Auburn.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 6, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
