Subscription Update Obituary

   Michael P. Tarasiak, 37, of Sutton, died Saturday February 9 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.

   He leaves his mother, Jacqueline (Gagne) Breault and her husband, Michael of Sutton; his father, Thaddeus Tarasiak, Jr., and his wife Rosemary of Worcester; a brother, John H. Tarasiak and his wife Susan of Charlton; his niece and Godchild, Sandra R. Tarasiak, his nephew, Shawn Tarasiak, his paternal grandfather, Tadeusz Tarasiak of Worcester; two step sisters, Kimberly R. Abercrombie of Worcester and Kathleen M. Abercrombie of Hull; another Godchild, Brett Reed and a dear friend, Erica Tortis. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born in Worcester.

   Mr. Tarasiak was a civil engineer and worked for Geotechnical Consultants before retiring due to illness in 2003. He was a graduate of University of Massachusetts, Lowell where he earned his Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the National Honor Society and a founding member of Sigma Tau Gamma, an Engineering fraternity at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Michael was also an avid sports fan.

   The funeral will be held on Thursday February 14 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday February 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Michael's family wishes to thank Dr. P.Y. Fan and the Renal team as well as Dr. Catherine Phillips from Neurology. In lieu of flowers contributions in Michael's name may be made to UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus Dialysis Nurses, 55 Lake Ave North, Worcester, MA 01655
