Subscription Update Obituary

    Michael L. Manzaro, Sr., 50, of Worcester, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son, passed away Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 in the St Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.

    Michael's wife of 29 years, Lorri S. (Hoffman) passed away in 2008 with which they are now happily reunited. He is survived by his children: Kristen E., Michael L. Jr. and Dominic B. Manzaro; his mother, Elinore (Cone) Manzaro; two sisters: Mary Moylan and Ellen Capstick, all of Worcester and a brother, Frank Manzaro Jr. of Dudley; a granddaughter, Marissa Keefe; many nieces, nephews and friends. His father, Frank J. Manzaro, Sr. and an infant sister, Christine predeceased him. Michael was born in Worcester; he graduated from Burncoat High School and has lived here all his life.

    Michael worked as a Plumber for the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 4 for the past 25 years and most recently held the position of Business Agent.

    Michael was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He enjoyed walking his dog, cooking, gardening and summers at the Cape with his family. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Patriots and the Bruins. He enjoyed watching his children play sports and never missed a game. He cherished being with his beloved granddaughter Marissa and his family. They were his life's enjoyment.

    Michael's funeral will be held Tuesday, April 6th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 35 Fales Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Monday, April 5th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Randy Burton Scholarship Fund, c/o Local 4, 330 Southwest Cutoff Suite 102, Worcester, MA 01604.
