Subscription Update Obituary

     Michael A. Aufiero, 59, of Hubbardston passed away from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease on Thursday, August 16th 2012 at home with his family at his side.
     Michael is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Christine E. (Novak) Aufiero; his beloved children, Michael and his wife Katie (Morgan) of Worcester; Nicholas of Hubbardston; and Melissa (Trotzky) Seitz and her husband Gregory of Whidbey Island, WA. He also leaves behind a cherished granddaughter, Lauren. He lived in Hubbardston for 21 years.
Born and raised in Cambridge, the son of Mary (DeVito) and the late Adam Aufiero; he is also survived by his brothers Frederick, Charles and Adam Jr. and by his sisters, Carmela Braun, Ann Ciampa, Mary, and Clare MacDonald.
     He worked for the United States Postal Service as the Manager of Distribution Operations at the Central Massachusetts Processing and Distribution Center in Shrewsbury with 33 years of service.
     Michael was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland, an avid New England sports-fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
     Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, August 21st from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in St Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
