Subscription Update Obituary

   May M. (LePoer) MacDonnell, 79, of 164 Maple Ave., Rutland, and formerly of Petersham, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, Worcester.

   She leaves two sons: Julian E. MacDonnell, Jr. and his wife Jane of Uxbridge, Kevin R. MacDonnell of Rutland; two brothers: Bernard LePoer and his wife Annie of Petersham, John LePoer and his wife Ann of Petersham; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother-in-law: Ernest F. MacDonnell of Providence RI; a daughter-in-law: Gerilyn MacDonnell of Rutland and several nieces and nephews.

   She was predeceased by her husband, Julian E. MacDonnell Sr., who died in 1983; by her son, Gary Scott MacDonnell; three sisters and three brothers.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Parish, Unitarian, On The Common, Petersham. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Cemetery, Paxton at a later date.

   Calling hours will be held Friday, January 16 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St., Athol.

   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the First Congregational Parish, Unitarian, On the Common, Petersham, MA 01366.

   Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol, is directing arrangements.
