Subscription Update Obituary

Mary Weiss Henrion, 91, of Holden, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Christopher House in Worcester.

Mary leaves four children, Timothy Henrion and his wife Barbara of Wonder Lakes, Illinois, Mary Ann Smith and her husband Mike of Holden, Eileen Henrion of Worcester and John J. Henrion and his wife Lynn of Holden; eight grandchildren, Wendy Stevens, Lisa Hranek, T.J. Henrion, Mike Smith Jr., Mark Smith, Marci D’Onofrio, Shay Henrion and Johnny Henrion; and eight great-grandchildren, Chris, Bonnie, Taylor, Michaela, Annabel, Phin, McKenzie and Max.

Mary was one of 11 children and is survived by two brothers, Leo Weiss of Texas and Tom Weiss of Penn., and two sisters, Martha Mazzei and Therese Bartolotta, both of Penn.

Mary was born in Charleroi, Penn., daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Krisco) Weiss. She attended high school in Penn. She moved to Worcester in 1951 where after raising her family, she attended secretarial school and then moved to Holden in 1993.

Mary worked for many years in the offices of Catholic Charities, the YWCA and the College of the Holy Cross, all in Worcester. She was also a talented baker and operated a specialty cake decorating business for many years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Jefferson.

The family wishes to thank UMass-Memorial Hospice and the staff of Christopher House, especially those in the Brookside unit, who cared for Mary during her illness.

There will be a calling hour Tuesday, August 23 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will follow at Noon in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
