Subscription Update Obituary

    Mary S. (Ramsey) Eccleston, 86, formerly of Auburn died Tues. May 5 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge where she had been a resident the past 6 years. Her husband of 46 years Leonard D. Eccleston died April 29, 1988. She is survived by her 7 children, Bertha Nozek of Montpelier VT, Leonard Eccleston of Whitinsville, Jon Eccleston of Spencer, Joseph Eccleston of Upton, Richard Eccleston and Lester Eccleston both of Spencer, and Laura Messina of Dudley; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and friends. Born in Worcester on Nov. 20, 1922 she was the daughter of Harry and Ruth (Powell) Ramsey and lived in Auburn many years. She also lived in Grafton and Sterling several years.

    Mrs. Eccleston was a dedicated mother and foster mother. She was proud to have raised 78 foster children over the years. She enjoyed crafts, crochet, and knitting.

    According to her wishes, Mary’s funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Salmon Hospice Care, 42 Beaumont Dr. Northbridge, MA 01534. Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville is directing arrangements.
