Mary E. (Avila) Ramsey, 86, of 47 E. Main St., died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Quaboag Rehab & Skilled Care Center in W. Brookfield after a long illness.
     She was the wife of David S. Ramsey, Sr. who died in 1996. She leaves two sons, David S. Ramsey, Jr. and his wife Audrey and Steven J. Ramsey and his wife Pauline all of Spencer; her daughter, Donna M. Messier and her husband Roland of Ft. Myers, Fl.; a sister, Margaret Spore of Hilton Head, SC; 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Born in Provincetown, she was the daughter of John and Emma (Meads) Avila and lived in Spencer from 1952-86 and No. Brookfield from 1986-2001, Auburn from 2001-07 before moving to W. Brookfield.
     At onetime she was a member of the E. Brookfield Baptist Church.
     A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 3 at Noon in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will precede the service on Friday from 11 a.m to 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spencer Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 147, Spencer, MA 01562.
