Mary E. (Cunningham) Polaski, 82, of Auburn, passed into eternal peace on August 11, 2006, at University Commons, Worcester.
Mary was born March 5, 1924, in Worcester, to parents, John and Helen (Burns) Cunningham. She graduated from South High School and the Worcester Business School. Mary was the first secretary of the Worcester Cerebral Palsey Clinic. On June 11, 1949, Mary married the love of her life, Joseph H. Polaski. They had four children: Maryellen Reinhart of Yakima, Washington, Mark Polaski of Worcester, Joseph Polaski of Auburn, and Paula Downey of Scituate. Mary leaves behind her four children, eight grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, on July 23rd 1988. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Eleanor Conlin, Gertrude Bertrand and John Cunningham. Mary's devotion to her husband and children set an example for her family to follow. Her kindness, strength, loving nature and sense of humor will be with us forever. The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at University Commons, especially Nurses: Debbie Rhamlo and Bill Daneault, for all their loving care and attention that they bestowed upon Mary while she was in their care.
Calling hours will be at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn on Wednesday, August 16th from 4-7 P.M. Her funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 17th at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr. at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to University Commons Activity Department, 378 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604.
