Subscription Update Obituary

     Mary E. (Young) Levesque 70, of Pleasant St., in the Rochdale section of Leicester, died peacefully with her family at her side, on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 in the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester, following a 3 year battle with cancer.
     She leaves her husband of 40 years, Arthur E.J. Levesque; a son, David A. Levesque and his wife Lia Thomas, MD, of Dallas, TX; a daughter, Karen E. Rice of Paxton; a brother, Robert Young and his wife Jackie of Charlton; three grand children Makayla, Lilah and Zoe; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son (twin of Karen), Donald A. Levesque in 1976.
     Mary was a teacher for 40 years at the Burgess Elementary School in Sturbridge, retiring in 1992.
     Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Clayton and Clara (MacDonald) Young. She later graduated from Leicester High in 1959, and Framingham Teachers College in 1963, both with High Honors.
     She was a longtime and active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Rochdale where she served as Junior Warden, Lay Reader, Altar Guild, Episcopal Church Woman, Prayer Chain and was very involved with its’ “Rummage Sales”. She was Church delegate to the Leicester and Worcester Ecumenical Council and Worcester Pastoral Committee.
     She was a member of the Leicester Mother’s Club, Mother Advisor to Spencer Lodge of Rainbow Girls. She had many close friends and associates over her lifetime.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Shepro and his staff and the nurses and staff of the Ichabod Washburn Hospice for their care, compassion and professionalism extended to Mary and her family.
     A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 1089 Stafford St., Rochdale. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Morin-Morrison Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., Leicester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christ Church Memorial Fund, P.O.
