Subscription Update Obituary

    Mary "Brownie" E. (Brown) Coe, 91, of Colony Homes – 123 Holden St., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in the Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

    Her husband of 25 years, Russell H. Coe died in 1989. She leaves her step-daughter, Elizabeth A. Foley and her husband John of Millbury; 8 grandchildren, Jack, Brian, Maureen, Dan, Mary, Paul, Tim and Peggy; 17 great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces; and caring friends, Terry and Jim Brandt from Leicester. A step-son, Walter Coe, predeceased her. She was born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri, daughter of Fredrick and Mabel (Scott) Brown and has lived in Worcester since 1964.

    Mrs. Coe was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in St. Louis and attended St. Louis University. She was a dental assistant for Dr. George Kerkorian for 23 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member St. George's Church, its Women's Guild and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed music, dancing, crafts, reading, sewing and embroidery.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 14th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Coe will be held on Monday, February 15th, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to St. George's Church, Memorial Fund, 40 Brattle St., Worcester, MA 01606.
