Mary D. “Dotsy” (Dowd) Curll, 59, of Worcester, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at home surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Howard A. “Rusty” Curll, Jr.; her loving children: Elizabeth Chappell and her husband Danny Chappell; Steven T. Curll and Howard A. Curll, III and his wife Lisa (Gibree) Curll; three sisters: Catherine O’Connor, Margaret Dowd and Winnifred O’Coin; her three beloved grandchildren: Danika Curll, Ronin Chappell and Nolan Chappell; cousins, nieces and nephews. A brother, James Dowd, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of James A. and Winnifred (Fournier) Dowd and graduated from Doherty High School, Class of 69′.

Dotsy was a teacher’s aide for the Worcester Public School System. She was a devoted mother to her three children and every child she encountered. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

Dotsy’s Funeral will be held Saturday, July 9 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Friday, July 8 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
