Subscription Update Obituary

     Mary C. (White) Hewitt, 92, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at St. Mary’s Healthcare. Her husband of 69 years, Jay S. Hewitt predeceased her in 1999.

Mary leaves two daughters, Barbara L. Gouin of Webster and Beverly A. Lemoine, of Hobe Sound, FL; three grandchildren, Kevin Lemoine and his wife Melissa, Kim O’Connell and her husband Kevin, and Wendy Petit; four great grandchildren, Courtney Petit, Riley and Ashley O’Connell and Leigha Lemoine; brother-in-law, Clare Hewitt and his wife Nancy, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son, Jay P. Hewitt in 2013, her twin sister, Eileen Blanchard in 2010, and two brothers, James and John White.

Mary was born in Worcester, daughter of Patrick and Nellie (McCarthy) White and has lived at Hampton Beach, NH and Coco Beach, FL. She worked at several local bakeries for many years, including Kresge’s Department Store, Crown Bakery and Ryan’s Bakery. She was a member of North American Martyrs Church. Mary’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the fifth floor staff at St. Mary’s Healthcare for the wonderful care in which they provided.

Mary’s funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 11:00 am at North American Martyr’s Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. A visiting hour will also be held on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am in North American Martyr’s Church. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s HealthCare Center Activities Fund, 39 Queen Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
