Subscription Update Obituary

Mary Ann "Mae" (Galvan) Wood, 84, passed away in the company of her family on Jan.10, 2007. She had been a resident of Christopher House in Worcester for the past two years.

She was born March 19, 1922 in Worcester, the daughter of William and Lucy (Bailey) Galvan. Her husband Joseph F. Wood died on October 15, 1990.

She leaves a son, Gerald F. Wood and his wife Barbara Wood of Byfield, Mass.; two daughters, Deborah A. Early of Paxton, wife of the late Thomas D. Early, and Carol A. Anderson and her husband Richard Anderson of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Gordon, Kristen Duclos, Kerry Blome, Heather Wood, Keith Early, Heidi Anderson, Erica Belsito and Erin Higgins; 16 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and a close friend, William Ambrose of Worcester.

Mary was very devoted to her family and took great delight in its celebration. She also enjoyed a career in retail sales with fine menswear stores, Ware Pratt and Wallachs.

Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Friday, Jan. 12 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m followed by a funeral Mass at noon in St. Columba's Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christopher House Activity Fund, 10 Mary Scano Dr., Worcester 01605.
