Mary A. “Murry” (Kallman) Cooper, 80, of Worcester, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Rehab and Nursing Center, Worcester.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Benjamin Cooper, Jr., in 2009.

She leaves her three children: Robin Louise Chenarak and her husband Vitaya of Worcester; Benjamin Cooper, III and his wife Carolyn of Raleigh, NC, and Alice Jane Ploysungwan and her husband Sithiporn of Worcester; her six grandchildren: Nathan and wife Jacky Chenarak, James and wife Elizabeth, Ashley and Adam Cooper, Francine and Scott Ploysungwan, and three great grandchildren: Iliana and Nathan Chenarak Jr, Isabella Cooper as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Donald W. and Alice (Booth) Kallman, and has lived here all of her life. Mrs. Cooper retired from AT&T in 1994, and previously had worked for New England Telephone for 20 years. She also was a former Ballroom dance instructor for “Nightlife” in Grafton and Holden. She was a longtime member of Saint Matthews Parish in Worcester, a life member of the Horticultural Society, a member of Toastmaster International, the I.B.E.W., the telephone Pioneers of America and the Daughters of Union Veterans (DUV). “Murry” loved a good joke, always was able to make people laugh and smile and feel special, was a wonderful baker, gardener, knitter and crocheter. She was the best mom one could hope for, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.” A special note of appreciation to the staff at Holy Trinity, and especially to Dr. Mary Hawthorne, for their years of loving care and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, August 13th from 9-10 AM in Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge St., Worcester. A memorial service will then be held at 10 AM, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, and will be private. Instead of flowers, the Cooper family request that donations be made to the Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 695 Southbridge St., Worcester, MA 01610 in her memory.
