Mary A. (Madden) Carr, 88, a resident of the Southgate Community died Saturday, March 23, 2013 in her home with her loving family by her side.
     Her husband of 51 years, Lt. Col. Charles H. Carr, USMC, Ret. died in 1996. She leaves her loving children, Richard Carr and his wife, Barbara of Needham and Susan Szajna and her husband, Stan of Sutton; six grandchildren, Dr. Michael Carr, Eric Carr, William Carr, Anthony Szajna, Stephanie Szajna Sellazzo and Susan Szajna Bresnahan; also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Madden.
     She was born in Worcester daughter of the late William and Julia (Jurre) Madden. Mary graduated from North High School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School.
     Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her extended family.
     Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass celebrating Mary’s life on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10 AM in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in the family lot in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. Memorial donations can be made Rosie’s Place, 889 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118. Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury is assisting the Carr family with arrangements.
