Subscription Update Obituary

    Mark D. Bisnette, 38, a Worcester Police Officer, of Paxton, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, in UMass Hospital from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident that day. Mark is survived by his wife of thirteen years but best friend of twenty three, Erin P. (Mulcahy) Bisnette; three sons, Connor Francis Bisnette, Seamus Ryan Bisnette and Liam Patrick Bisnette; a daughter, Riley Kate Bisnette; his mother and step father, Barbara (Werkowski) Pollock and her husband George of Worcester; his father and step mother, David and Maureen Bisnette of Worcester; his paternal grandmother, Eleanor Bisnette of Cape Coral, Florida; a sister, Michelle Perritt and her husband Ed of Seattle, Washington; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends. Mark was born in Holden, and graduated from Doherty High School, where he met his loving wife; he later graduated from Curry College. He served his nation proudly during Operation Desert Storm as a United States Marine.

    Mark was a Police Officer for fourteen years for Worcester Police. He was very active in the department from the time he was President of Worcester Police Recruit Class # 296 to being a member of the Honor Guard, The Police Relief Association, The Emerald Society, NEPBA Local 911 and as a delegate to the Massachusetts Police Association. He was a member of the Tun Tavern Society of the United States Marines. He enjoyed all Boston teams, especially The Red Sox, and he loved "The Fighting Irish" at Notre Dame. Mark was a golfer who enjoyed any times he could be on the course, and spent many rounds playing in charitable tournaments.

    Mark was a proud father, who was very involved in raising his family and was always there when needed. He was a coach with Paxton Little League and Worcester Flag Football, where he would enjoy watching his kids play.

    Calling hours for Mark will be held Wednesday, January 6, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 7, at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street, Worcester (Please go directly to church for the Mass). Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

    In lieu of flower, donations in his memory may be made to the Mark D. Bisnette Memorial Fund, in care of Worcester Police Credit Union, 400 Grove Street, Worcester, Ma 01606, please make checks payable to NEPBA local 911.
