Subscription Update Obituary

Maria Teresa (Jaskievicz) Tarasiak, 86, of Worcester, joined the Lord upon her death on April 26. She was a survivor of the holocaust during the second World War. Maria was a loving wife and mother of six children, 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She leaves her husband of 61 years, Tadeusz Tarasiak; her daughters: Jane Gaudreau and her husband Robert, and Frances Tarasiak and her significant other, Gordon Wheeler; her sons: Thaddeus Tarasiak, Jr, and his wife Rosemary, Paul Tarasiak and his wife Geraldine, Mark Tarasiak and his wife Elisabete Montiero and Robert Tarasiak and his wife Mariana. She also leaves several nephews and nieces. Maria was born in Dambrowa, Poland, a daughter of Felix and Michalina (Kisiel) Jaskievicz and has lived here since 1949.

Mrs. Tarasiak was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and once sang in its choir. She was also a member of the former Polish Army Veterans Association, Post 52, Womens Auxiliary. She was a volunteer and supporter for several organizations including the Polish American Congress.

The funeral will be held on Monday, April 30, from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, April 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
