Subscription Update Obituary

Marguerite R. (Savage) Sarasin, 88, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, August 28th 2011 in Beaumont of Northborough. Her husband of 52 years, Floyd J. Sarasin died in 1996. Her daughter Donna M. Kinney of Worcester died in 2000.

She leaves her son, Joseph F. Sarasin and his wife Ann (Antoinette Brown) of Worcester; three grandchildren, Joseph A. Sarasin and his wife, Angela of Hilliard, OH, Christopher F. Sarasin of Worcester and Kimberly (Kinney) Callan and her husband, Sean of Shrewsbury, with whom she lived and provided her care; six great-grandchildren, Lilliann, Sophia, Christopher Jr., Joshua and Michael Sarasin and Katharine Callan; many nephews, nieces and friends. Four brothers and her sister predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of William F. and Marion (McAleer) Savage; and was a 1941 graduate of Commerce High School. Mrs. Sarasin had worked as a parachute inspector for the United States Army during World War II. Marguerite was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed line dancing and played the piano and also taught piano lessons. She will be remembered as an outgoing woman, who never met a party she didn’t like and for her acute taste for coffee.

Her graveside service will be held, Thursday, September 1st at 1:00 PM in Worcester County Memorial Park. A calling hour will be held in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue on the day of the funeral from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
