Subscription Update Obituary

     Marguerite "Bunky" H. (Quigley) Palmer, 84, of Leicester, formerly of Rutland, died peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2009 surrounded by her loving family in the Rose Monahan Home after a brief battle with cancer.

     She is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Willis L. Palmer, Jr. She leaves three sons, Thomas A. Palmer and his wife Therese of Holden, Christopher M. Palmer and his wife Kathy of Worcester and Peter A. Palmer and his wife Susan of Boylston; three daughters, Anne L. Lyons and her husband James of Worcester, Catherine E. Palmer and her husband Tim Lum of San Francisco and Mary E. Antanavica and her husband Kenneth of Leicester; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Her eldest daughter, Susan M. Wright of Holden passed away in March of this year. Two sisters, Dorothy Bernard and Mary Quigley, both from Webster predeceased her.

     Bunky was born and raised in Webster, the daughter of George and Helen (Dolan) Quigley, lived many years in Leicester and 20 years in Rutland before moving back to Leicester last year. She was a graduate of St. Louis High School in Webster and was a member of St. Patrick's Church.

     Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 20th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Her funeral will be held on Monday from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, Main St., Rutland. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Donations may be made to the VNA Care Network, Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
