Margit T. (Rosenlund) Swanstrom, 86, passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the Christopher House of Worcester. She was the widow of Kenneth E. Swanstrom, Sr. Born in Worcester, Margit was the daughter of Hjordis (Thyden) and B. E. Victor Rosenlund.

She was a graduate of South High School and Salter Secretarial School. Margit was an administrative assistant at the law firm, Blodgett & Blodgett, PC and also spent a number of years at Eddy’s of Park Avenue clothing store. She was a member of the Hadwen Park Congregational Church and for many years prior to that at Bethany Congregational Church.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter: Kenneth Swanstrom, Jr., and his wife Donna Bunker-Swanstrom of Worcester; Kurt Swanstrom and his wife Donna (Gniadek) Swanstrom of Ashland, OH; and Karyl Bombard and her husband James of Spencer. Four grandchildren: Chad Swanstrom and his wife Kim (OH), Kristopher Swanstrom (OH), Ross & Kurt Bombard of Spencer; and four great-grandchildren: Lauren, Kamryn, Gwendolyn and Owen; as well as cousins, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two infant sons: David and Steven K. Swanstrom; and three brothers: Bror, Victor, and Warren Rosenlund. Margit loved music and had a lovely singing voice. She sang for many years in the church choir and cherished her church life, especially her Bible Studies group. She liked to garden, read, knit and challenge her mind with crossword puzzles and other word games. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was very proud of her home at Stiles Lake in Spencer and hosted many wonderful cook-outs. She especially loved Cape Cod and spending time at the cottage that her brother Victor built. But most of all, Margit loved her family and friends and simply enjoyed spending time with the people she loved.

A very special thanks to the staff at Christopher House, Brookside Unit and the JHC Hospice. Your caring and support will never be forgotten.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, on Friday, December 27th, from 4 to 7 pm.
