Subscription Update Obituary

   Margaret P. (Pike) DiFilippo, 91, formerly of Glendale St., passed away peacefully, February 5th, 2008 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.

   Her husband, Francis DiFilippo, passed away in 1980. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews, including Edwin Pike, Jr., and his wife, Valerie of Leicester, her principal caregivers; two sisters-in-law: Edith Pike and Dora Omilanowicz; Margaret's two brothers: George and Edwin Pike, Sr. predeceased her.

   She was born in Worcester; her parents were the late Emil and Mary (Linfors) Pike. She graduated from Commerce High school and has lived here all her life. Margaret worked over 42 years for Norton Company as a sales and advertising associate, before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Bancroft Chapter of the AARP and the Norton Retirees Association. Margaret loved to travel, read, and work in her garden and yard.

   Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester 01608.
