Subscription Update Obituary

   Margaret “Peg” (Martin) Belles, 96, passed away unexpectedly December 9 surrounded by her loving family.

   Margaret was born in Worcester, the daughter of Henry and Rupia (Teteckian) Martin.

   She leaves her two sons: Reuben and his wife, Lucy Belles of Oxford and Wayne and his wife, Barbara Belles of Dudley; her daughter, Pamela and her husband, Peter Der Kazarian of Holden; her sister, Elda Malesky of Worcester. She also leaves six grandchildren and four great grandchildren that were her pride and joy.

   Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William Belles in 1997; one sister, Margaret; four brothers: Reuben, William, Leon and Zarah.

   She was an active member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, serving as chairperson of the Woman’s Guild, Senior Ladies Auxiliary and the AVAKS. She was also a charter member, President, Treasurer and Secretary of the Armenian Home for the Aged. Mrs. Belles was also a former member of the Woman’s Republican City Committee and worked as a clerk at the voting polls for 40 years. In her earlier years, she was a hairdresser and then worked for Morse Shoe, before retiring after 40 years of service. Mrs. Belles loved gardening, reading and traveling.

   The funeral will be held Friday, December 12 from the CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. A Dahngark service will be held during the visiting hours.
