Subscription Update Obituary

     Margaret (McCrohon) Rood, 78, of Mansfield and formerly of Worcester, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

Margaret leaves a son, Jefferey Rood of Mansfield with whom she lived; two daughters, Mechele Hurst and her husband Barry of Brockton, and Patricia Reid of South Yarmouth; one sister, Patricia M. Richardson of Worcester; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her dear cat Pepper.

Margaret was born in Conn., daughter of Arthur G. and Marion (Hall) McCrohon. She lived in Worcester and Millbury for many years before moving to Marshfield and later Mansfield.

Margaret became a certified nursing assistant at Worcester City Hospital and worked for 40 years in health care facilities before retiring, including the former Park Manor and Wayside nursing homes, both in Worcester.

Margaret was an avid reader and enjoyed television game shows. She loved animals.

There will be calling hours Thursday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
