Marcella M. (Mazurka) Rooney, 60, of Worcester, passed away Monday, May 12th in her home after an illness. She leaves a son, Justin P. Rooney and his wife Eryca, and their daughter, Hailey E. Rooney of Auburn; a daughter, Elizabeth D. Rooney and her companion, Beth Monahan of Worcester; her mother, Marilyn D. Mazurka and her fiance, Richard W. Daigle of Sturbridge; three brothers, Alan D. Mazurka and his wife Susan of Fitchburg, Albert B. Mazurka, Jr. of Worcester, and Andrew P. Mazurka and his wife Lisa of Sutton; her former husband, Richard Rooney and his wife Patricia of Hudson; and nephews and nieces.

     She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Albert B. Mazurka, Sr. and graduated with honors from South High School, Worcester State College, and Salters Secretarial School as a medical assistant. Marcella worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and her cat, Snookums. She was loved greatly and will be missed by all who knew her.
