Subscription Update Obituary

     Malvern A. "Mal" (Trask) Anderson, formerly of Auburn, died Saturday, August 11th in the Eckstein Center Hospice, Scottsdale, AZ.  Her husband, Melvin Anderson, died in 1980.
    
She leaves her son, Paul M. Anderson and his wife Gail of Scottsdale; a sister, Genevieve Anderson of Florida; three grandchildren: Cheryl Elliot, Jeffrey Anderson, and Cristen Anderson; 5 great grandchildren: Chelsea Anderson, Molly Elliot, Meaghan Elliot, Maddie Anderson, and Kristofer Anderson. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Zelva) Trask and lived many years in Auburn, before moving to Arizona. She also wintered in Florida for many years.
    
Mrs. Anderson worked for many years as a sales associate in the china department of the former Denholm & MacKay in Worcester. She later was an active volunteer for 25 years at the Auburn Senior Center.
    
Besides the senior center, Mrs. Anderson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester and was a trophy winner many times over in her candlepin bowling leagues, and was an avid cribbage player. She loved watching her Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
    
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mal's family on Friday, August 17th from 10-11 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lorraine Gleick Nordgren Senior Center, 4 Goddard Dr. Auburn, MA 01501 or to The Hospice of the Valley, Eckstein Center, 9494 E Baker Lane, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
