Subscription Update Obituary

     M. Florence (Viens) Rauktis, 94, of Worcester, died on Saturday, November 9th in Saint Vincent Hospital.

     Florence was married to Joseph P. Rauktis for 56 years who died in 2003. She is survived by two sons, J. Peter Rauktis Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Worcester and Kenneth Rauktis Sr. and his wife Ellen of Charlton; a daughter, Christine Cook and her husband Victor of Worcester; a daughter-in-law, Janet Rauktis of Worcester with whom Florence lived; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Charles Viens.

     Mrs. Rauktis was born in Montreal, PQ, Canada, daughter of the late J. Arthur and Alice (Rainville) Viens. She lived most of her life in Worcester and also spent 15 years in Harwich.

     Florence spent her entire career in the insurance industry. She worked for many local insurance agencies as a policy writer and then went to work for Hanover Insurance Company as an assistant underwriter, retiring in 1981.

     Mrs. Rauktis was a member of Christ the King Church and was an avid bowler, card player and knitter.

     The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 13th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Tuesday, November 12th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
