Subscription Update Obituary

    Mrs. M. Elizabeth "Betty" (Wetherbee) Small, 86, of 37 Crestwood Road died Thursday, May 13, 2010 in UMass-Memorial Hospital after an illness.

    Her husband Herbert E. Small, Jr. died in 2007. She leaves her adopted son, Theodore J. Skaar and his wife Mary Lou of Saugerties, NY; two grandsons, Christopher E. Skaar and his wife Christine of Wantagh, NY and Jeffrey R. Skaar of Manhattan, NY; two great-granddaughters, Kathryn and Erin and extended family as well.

    Mrs. Small was born in Worcester, daughter of Daniel and Grace (Neudeck) Wetherbee. She graduated from Bryant University in Providence and worked as a bookkeeper in Worcester. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester; she was also an active member of the Leicester Women's Club, most recently serving as vice president.

    There will be a service of remembrance at 1:00PM on Friday, May 21 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Restoration Fund, Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608. MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing arrangements.
