Lynette F. McDonagh, 68, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after a life marked by remarkable strength and dedication. Born on September 24, 1956, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Lynette was the daughter of the late Ernest F. Jost, Sr. and Paula Rae Maigret.

Lynette was partner to the late Lawrence Cambra. Her greatest joy came from her family. She was a loving mother to Elizabeth McDonagh Bograd, Erik C. Anderson, Chyanne Rios, and stepmother to Caryn Cambra. She cherished her grandchildren, Jacob, Isaac, Elliot, Aaliyah, Avery, Elizah, and Atreyu, who brought immense joy into her life.

Lynette leaves behind her siblings: Donna Rae Stedman (Gil Gothing), Lori Ann Cutler (Mark Connor), Ernie Jost, Jr. (Renee), Erin Lee Salloway (Steven), Martha Ellen Jost and Henry Jost (Kathleen). She is also survived by her stepmother, Carla Jost as well as many nieces and nephews and a great many friends.

Lynette dedicated herself to her education, graduating Cum Laude from Nichols College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. She took immense pride in her professional life, working tirelessly and demonstrating unwavering commitment throughout her career. Most recently, she was employed with Independent Claims Services.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lynette was a passionate volunteer and community leader. She generously gave her time to Girls, Inc., making a significant impact on young lives. Her leadership shone brightly as President of the Worcester Youth Soccer League, where she tirelessly organized, managed, and coached, fostering a love for the game.

Lynette faced life’s challenges with a graceful determination and a full heart, her incredible tenacity and indomitable spirit ensured her a successful life. Her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Services

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Lynette’s life on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. Paul, 38 High Street, Worcester, on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Lynette will be laid to rest immediately following Mass in the Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lynette’s memory to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, Inc.
