Lucy (Pashoian) Sivazlian, 89, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2013, under the kind and watchful care of the Notre Dame Health Care Center staff. With family gathered, Lucy returned to God as gently as she lived. She was a constant source of love and caring for others. Those who knew her could attest to her selfless manner as a standard by which life can be lived.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Abraham Sivazlian, in 1989. She leaves behind a daughter, Dorothy Sivazlian and her husband, Paul Raybin, of Orinda, CA; two sons, Mark Sivazlian and his wife, Jo Ann, of Worcester, and Norman Sivazlian of Worcester. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Emily Billings, Aaron, Noah, and Arianna Raybin, Robert, Matthew, Stephen and Alexandra Sivazlian, all of whom she adored unconditionally. Lucy is survived by a sister, Sally (Pashoian) Yagjian and several nephews and nieces.
Lucy was raised in Worcester and attended Commerce High School. She began her working career at The Worcester Market. After marrying, she devoted her life to her family. Lucy was an accomplished seamstress, who added drapery making, painting, music and retail sales to family care taking. She was last employed for many years at Windsor Button Shop.
Lucy was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour in Worcester, its Women’s Guild, a past member of the Greater Worcester Armenian Chorale, and a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Ahlem Temple No. 84. She will be remembered for enriching the lives of others by always putting their interests ahead of her own. Lucy brought light into the lives of everyone who knew her with her gentle ways, kindness, smile and great sense of humor. May God watch over her beautiful spirit.
Lucy’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7th at 11:00 AM at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. A visitation period will take place from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609. Arrangements are in the care of CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St.
