Subscription Update Obituary

Lucille A. (Schwartz) Siauris, 73, of Auburn, died peacefully Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She leaves her beloved husband of 49 years, Joseph J. Siauris; her son, Joseph David Siauris of Auburn; her daughter, Christine Jenkins and her husband Wayne of Rhode Island; her two “lights of her life”, her granddaughters Rachel and Sydney. She also leaves her two brothers, her confidante David E. Schwartz and his wife Dorothy of Worcester, Martin Schwartz and his wife Jayne of Leicester; her two sisters, Christine M. Pellegrino and her husband James of Spencer and Janice R. Ciepielowski and her husband Glen of Whitinsville; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Emanuel and Rachel (Braconnier) Schwartz and has lived in Auburn for many years. She was a 1955 graduate of Charlton High School. Lucille worked at for 35 years for the UMass Memorial Healthcare System, first at Hahnemann Hospital and later system wide in the Information Systems department. She also had worked for the former Thom McAn Shoe in Worcester.

She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Parish in Auburn, where she served as a CCD teacher for 15 years. She was also a member of the Betty Bowling League and the Auburn Women’s League. She loved to travel with her husband, enjoyed spending time on the beaches of Cape Cod, vacations in Florida with her sisters, attending plays and performances, but her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, June 2 from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 3rd from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology, 299 Lincoln St., Suite 100, Worcester, MA 01605.
