Louise L. (Lizotte) Lucier, 79, of Worcester, passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, with her family by her side, at Radius Healthcare of Worcester, after a courageous battle with COPD.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Mildred (Shackett) and Alfred Lizotte, and has lived here all her life. She was predeceased, in 2004, by her husband, the love of her life for fifty-four years, Raymond E. Lucier, Jr.
She leaves the joys of her life, her children, Donna L. Landroche and her husband Joseph of Holden, Raymond E. Lucier, Jr. and his life companion Linda Millott of Mount Pleasant, MI, Millie Larson and her husband Richard of Charlton, Yvonne Y. Swisher and her husband Robert of Sterling, Robert E. Lucier of Worcester, Delores “Dee” H. Guido and her husband Anthony with whom she lived, Mark A. Lucier and his wife Donna of South Yarmouth, Shannon M. Lucier and her life companion Tom Allen of Burlington, VT. She is also survived by twenty-four most precious grandchildren; the apples of her eye twenty-four great grandchildren; a great- great grandchild; a brother, Edgar Lizotte and his wife Pat of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her grandson, Raymond E. Lucier, IV; and also by a brother and two sisters, Philip Lizotte, Bettymae Burke and Delores Lizotte.
Louise spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her husband and children. She worked briefly at Northeast Laundry Service and The Sisters of Notre Dame.
She loved spending time with her children and watching her grandchildren grow. She enjoyed baking, cake decorating, bowling and vacationing on Cape Cod.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. Petra Kajla, the nurses and staff at Summit Elder Care, for their compassion, support and loving care they gave to Louise.
Louise’s family would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Radius Healthcare, for being so kind and thoughtful to the family and for providing such wonderful care to Louise during her time of need.
Calling hours for Louise will be held on Friday, November 11, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, November 12, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
